That's Nancy - or "Nan" as her grandkids and great-grandson called her. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in October 2017, however she was showing signs of this disease for at least a year or more prior to the official diagnosis. Mom passed in February 2018, at the age of 85.

I'm asking family and friends to join me in participating in Walk to End Alzheimer's. The Harford/Cecil County Walk is scheduled for Saturday October 2, 2021. I will be walking in memory of my Mom. For those of you in this part of Maryland, would you consider being on my team and walking with me in October? Or perhaps you would consider donating to advance the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association? Your contributions will enable critical care and support services and advance research toward methods of prevention, treatment and, ultimately, a cure. Every little bit helps!

Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 14 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
