By participating in the 2023 Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's, I'm committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer research, care and support.For the twelfth year,I am the Captain of ERA MARTIN ASSOCIATES TEAM. Our staff and Realtors are taking part to support our families,friends and clients,who are facing the challenges and caregiving of their loved ones with this devastating disease.

Thirty years ago,I decided to make a difference.In 1993,I wanted to start the Alzheimer's Association-Eastern Shore Chapter,in memory of my father,Leslie H. Evans.I had the office out of my home for 5 years and served as President of Board of Directors for 7 years.Shortly after my parents' 50th Wedding Anniversary,my father started showing some of the warning signs of this horrible disease.He got lost driving home from State Roads Commission meeting in Baltimore,a trip he had made bi-monthly for 20 years.In addition to my dad,I have lost one aunt, two cousins and 2012 summer,my best friend from high school's mother,who always treated me like her daughter. All suffered from Alzheimer's disease. Five years ago, one of my closest friends for over 51 years, is 82 years old and suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Now two years ago, I lost my father's niece in January from Dementia.
