As the wonderful mother of my wife and the loving grandmother to my children, she obviously means the world to us all, but she is sadly less of herself each time we spend time with her. Our team name is a play off of the stanza "I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys" from King Solomon’s Song of Songs. Like the colors of the flowers of the plant's many varieties, Roses of Sharon is made up many who are or have been affected by Alzheimer's. We are walking to raise money for new treatments for all who are and will be stricken by this life-stealing disease.
