For the fourth year in a row I will serve as Chair of the South Shore Walk to End Alzheimer's. I am hopeful that this will be our best ever. This year's walk will be on October 14th in Plymouth.
Some progress has been made on treating the symptoms of Alzheimer's but we are still no closer to a cure. The Alzheimer's Association continues to do great work but they need more to continue offering their great services and ultimately, to find that first survivor. There are 6 million people in the US living with Alzheimer's and dementia. There are countless more who care for them.
Team Green Street will be participating for the fifth year in a row. We do this to honor and remember our Mom, Barbara 'Maggie' McManama as well as her younger brother, Dr. Peter Magner. Both were caring, compassionate people who dedicated their lives to helping others. Both died much too young due to this dreadful, relentless disease.
Our team name is TEAM GREEN STREET to remember the beautiful home where they spent their childhoods.....16 Green Street in Hingham.
We're asking you to participate in any way you can......join the team, donate, help us raise funds and then please walk with us in Plymouth on October 14th.
Thank you!
