Neurodegenerative illness is one of the hardest things to watch people go through. I've seen countless friends who have lost someone to Alzheimers, who have a family member who is currently starting to show signs, or who I've temporarily lost contact with because they are struggling to care for someone with late stage Alzheimers right now and it has consumed all of their time. My father also has Parkinsons, another Neurodegenerative illness. I love and support all of these people in every way that I can. But I always want to do more, as I'm sure you do as well!
Development of preventative strategies and early detection has made progress in leaps and bounds in the ten years, preventing neuronal cell death mechanisms such as oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, neroinflamtion, protein aggregation and defective autophagy; and the bulk of that research wouldn't have progressed without the direct fundraising and help of people just like you.
Every small bit helps, even the price you pay for a beer on a friday night can play a part in ensuring no families have to suffer from this plague anymore. Donations can be anonymous so even if you give can spare only 1 dollar, please do. I sincerely believe that with all of us working together, we will have a world without Neurodegenerative disease within the next 20 years.
