I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 14 million by 2050. My mother passed on Christmas 2022 to this disease. Both of my parents had a parent with Alzheimer's. The worst thing about this disease is that you lose your loved one twice. First when they forget and second when they leave.
The reason this walk has become so important to me over the past few years is learning how expensive it is. Insurance does not cover private assisted living or in home health care. There is also not a lot of education out in the field for doctors either, which makes it difficult when visiting appointments. We need to advocate for our loved ones!
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
