In honor of my husband, Jim Johnson, I am once again joining the Alzheimer Association's efforts to raise money towards research into a cure for this devastating disease. My family's hopes have risen and fallen with each new drug that has gone through trials. Several drugs have helped slow the disease process, but nothing has yet been discovered to stop it. Though my husband's Alzheimer's is now too advanced to benefit from a drug, it's my hope that a successful drug (and cure) will be found in the near future. No more families should have to watch their loved one slowly but surely decline.
