This year will mark 10 years since my beautiful grandma passed away from Alzheimer's. She's the kind of person you could write a book about, which she would love because she was a huge book worm. My earliest memories are checking out large stacks of library books with her. I won't drown you in writing because like I said, I could write a book. The main thing I want to be taken from this is that she was a person, the main character in her story, someone who could very well still be here. The immense amount of memories she should have created are heartbreaking. She should have been here. Alzheimer's took that away from her and her family.
Now it's wreaking havoc in our family once more. My uncle, her son, the funniest human alive. People say that about their loved ones a lot but this mans humor is substantial. I don't feel like it's my place to discuss too much. I'd love to have his wife and daughter's say a few words if they feel the desire to do so at any point.
They aren't numbers or statistics, they're people with lives that are just as important as anyone else's.
