Once again, I am walking to honor the memory of my grandma (Eunice).
She was a true matriarch of our family, she was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. To know her was a blessing, she always made a point to make you feel special and loved. Before Alzheimer’s took her she had a memory like an elephant, she never forgot.
My grandma always loved lighthouses which is why I have named my team Eunice’s Lighthouse. Lighthouses symbolize hope, safety, and a way home. In a lot of ways she was a lighthouse to many. To me she was always a safe place, she felt like home, she was warm and familiar. I walk to help keep her memory alive.
Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association® to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
Thank you!
