We are now in the 5th year of life without Old Guy. In reality, we started losing him 7 years ago. This disease is so very tough on all members of the family. Alzheimer's robbed Dad of so many of his memories, but luckily not his smile or orneriness. Many families are not as lucky--the disease can change their loved one's personality.
