My father, Bob Hardisty, passed away from Alzheimer's disease in 2013 after suffering with it for approx. 8 years. My dad had 9 grandchildren and he loved being a papaw, but this terrible disease robbed him of all his memories and took him from all of us way too soon. After he passed away, my family attended our first Walk to End Alzheimer's and we have tried to walk and raise money every year. I'm a volunteer for the Alzheimer's Association and I run a caregiver support group locally and see too many families going through what mine did. Since this disease can be hereditary it is always on my mind. It is so important to me that a cure be found and that takes money. I will be participating in the Walk to End Alz in Terre Haute on Sept 23, 2023. I have set a goal of $1000.00 for the walk and would appreciate any amount you feel led to donate. I’m so thankful to family and friends who have helped me reach my goal every year and I can’t tell you how much your donations mean to me! Thanks for your donation, Dayna Firestone
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's(R). Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
