I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
We lost my Grandma Batzek to this disease and will be walking in her memory. She fought for 6 years - this is when we physically lost her; however, mentally she was gone after 2 years. It was so hard to try to have a conversation. She would forget after just a few seconds how many kids I had - and would forget she was talking to me and think it was my mom (whom has already passed). I know first hand how hard this disease is on the people who care for and love the person fighting. I am so proud to work for Edward Jones. They identified the need to support this cause and stepped up to the plate to become the only National Sponsor. Although Alex, Megan and I will be walking in memory of my Grandma - we are also walking for you and anyone else that has been affected by this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
