Alzheimer’s is a devastating disease. It robs those afflicted by it of the golden years of their lives, and its persistent and relentless advance makes each day more challenging than the last for friends and loved ones responsible for care and support.
I lost my Mom to this disease over six years ago, and not a day goes by that I don’t think about her and the disease that steadily overtook her in what should have been some of the happiest years of her life. I have committed to do what I can do to spare others from the effects of this heartbreaking disease.
The Carmichael Family will be participating in this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s in honor of my Mom and her team, the “Memory Joggers.”
