Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
I lost my mother to Alzheimer's 14 years ago. The pain from this disease is devastating not only to the person with the disease but for family and friends. Before the disease she was a feisty, opinionated, and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. It is heartbreaking to think of the changes that the disease brought. Instead of the woman who once was a fantastic cook, gardener, and beginning author she became a person who didn't recognize her own children.
We are walking for this amazing woman and to END this devastating disease.
Our team is the Pickadilly Squares. (Her nickname was Pick)Please consider joining our team or making a donation.
I need your support to do my part! Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for joining the movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with you.
