Let's face it, Alzheimer's is a horrible disease that robs people of their faculties. It's a daily heartbreak for friends and families of those afflicted. If I could, I'd punch this disease in the face.
The photo on this page is my dog Scooter. He first met my dad in a nursing home while my dad's brain was slowly being eaten away by dementia. Scooter always joined me for these Alz walks. He himself was an elderly gentleman who had forgotten things like how stairs work, or that his bed isn't a bathroom. His final Walk to End Alzheimer's was in 2021, but for Scooter it was a ride in a wagon/float for Team Mama Lena.
Dementia is a lonely disease, isolating the those suffering from it and their caregivers. We need all the help we can get to fund research and resources. If you would like to support Team Mama Lena in this year's walk, consider making a donation. Or find a walk near you and participate.
Thanks so much.

Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association® to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
Thank you!
