This is the eighth Alzheimer's walk since my sister Deb and I lost our mother to Alzheimer's. After two years of walking remotely due to cancer and Covid-19, our team was able to Zoom during the rain last year and are looking forward to walking together again this year.
Mom was aware that she had Alzheimer's and always asked if there was a cure. It was difficult to tell her no. While Mom did not live to see a cure, she lived life to the max while she was with us.
I participate in the walk to honor Mom's memory and to support efforts to improve treatment and to find a cure for Alzheimer's. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our efforts can make a difference in improving outcomes for those at future risk.
Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
