My Mom, Marlene, is an extraordinary person. She has spent her entire life serving others, as a daughter, sister, mother, wife and as a remarkable elementary school teacher and reading specialist in the Chicago Public School system. Marlene has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's, and I am walking to honor her.
Alzheimer's runs on my mother's side of the family, and we've had many family members fall victim to this brutal disease, including Marlene's father Phil. I know firsthand the support and help that families facing Alzheimer's need. The Alzheimer's Association is an extraordinary organization, and leads the way in Alzheimer's care, support and research. I am walking to get this organization more resources in the fight!
