Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please consider a donation or register as a participant, as your action will be felt and impact someone who really needs it.
A handful of years ago, my father was diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) with progressive aphasia and recently passed away. My dad has always been known for his quick-witted personality, jovial spirit, and most notably, his dance moves. He will always be remembered for having a laughable and lovable soul, but it was challenging to watch this disease take away some of the notable characteristics of his spirit. The many medications, doctors and therapy visits, along with the day to day tasks and financial strain can be tough on those who have a loved one with dementia. We are blessed to have a great network of family, friends and coworkers that supported us through those very difficult times, however that didn't bring his personality back. There are millions out there suffering with this disease, caring for someone with this disease, or who will be diagnosed with this disease. Help us bring the fight to Alzheimers so that we can make a difference in someone's life!
