If your life has not been touched by Alzheimer's, you may not know the impact of this terrible disease.
In case you may not know, the funds raised by the Central Georgia Alzheimer's Association funds are used to serve patients and families here in Middle Georgia. Education classes benefit caregivers, who impact families, and encourage empathy and compassion for those suffering from the effects of Alzheimer's. If you can give, please do so to impact the care that is offered to many elders in the Middle Georgia area.
My grandfather suffered from the disease and watching his decline and the impact the disease had on my family has inspired me to work in the field of music therapy and Alzheimer's. I am honored to have to gift of encouraging family members and those who suffer using music as a catalyst.
I have had the pleasure of assisting other caregivers through their journey of supporting those who suffer from this terrible disease. My biggest concern has been for the caregiver. Supporting those who are suffering not only emotionally as they watch their loved one disappear; but also as a support for the physical and mental toll this disease can take on those trying to care for their family member.
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
