Alzheimer's isn't waiting! Neither am I! The 2023 Atlanta Walk to End Alzheimer's will be in-person and virtual this year. I am moving forward with fundraising to make an impact on funding research with the goal "to see a world without Alzheimer's and other Dementia". My Promise Garden bouquet holds 7 purple flowers and 2 blue flowers for my Aunt Muriel and my friend's mother who have Dementia. Three of my family members have passed away from Alzheimer's, including my Uncle Carroll "Ki" Simmons who was a 1st chair French Hornist with the Chicago Symphony. Our dear family friend's mother Halina Jones lost her battle with Alzheimer's in 2019. Two Sigma Kappa sisters lost their sisters to Alzheimer's and Dementia in 2020. A special neighbor lost her mother to Alzheimer's. On 11/5, I will be lacing up my Alzheimer's walking shoes and walking with Sigma Kappa sisters observing social distancing.
Together, we can lead the way to Alzheimer's first survivor. Join my Team to walk or make a secure tax-deductible donation to My Walk Page to advance the care, awareness, and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's! #EndAlz
