One of the hallmarks of the Walk to End Alzheimer's is the Promise Garden, which is full of flowers of varying colors. Each color represents a different connection to Alzheimer's. For many years I carried a yellow flower, as a caretaker for someone living with Alzheimer's. Sadly, I now carry a purple flower, since I have lost a loved one to this disease. I have walked in the past, and I will continue to walk, until the white flower--representative of the first survivor of Alzheimer's--is a reality.
