My dad experienced dementia over several years and passed from Covid-19, April 2020. To watch the decline, the frustration and the fear my dad experienced was difficult for my family.
I learned how to manage & deal with the decline of my father‘s mental health. Patience, love, and compassion were some of the characteristics that we brought forth.
I enrolled in a study to help professionals learn more about the onset of this disease. I took a blood test & a pet scan as part of the study & thankfully I do not have any traits of this devastating disease.
As I’ve participated, I’ve become much more committed to wanting to put an end to this disease, not only in memory of my father, but for all who are impacted.
