My wife's mother was the first in my immediate family to have alzheimer's. Then my mother's oldest brother had it and then my mother's 3rd oldest brother had it. Now my wife is dealing with Alzheimer's. My wife is the person that had me join her in a walk to support her mom. We did this walk every year no matter where we lived. The last 4 years I have done the walk on my own or with a friend or family member due to the fact that my wife is now being taken care of at a memory care facility. As long as I can physically walk I will walk to support the fight to end this dreaded disease which has taken so many that we love. I will support anyone anywhere that is dealing with this disease that takes so much from them and the people they love. This is what my wife has taught me and what my mom taught me as a child is to support those that cannot support themselves. Also those that have come before me in AA have taught me to advocate for those that need my help.
