But I know someone personally who has dementia. Someone I haven't seen in years because he lives in another part of the country. 

His name is Gordon. He's my age. (And I like to think I'm still relatively young!) I grew up with him. We went to church together. He had such a strong, encouraging influence on my life. But he's not the same and he hasn't been for years. It makes me sad.It makes me want to do something about it.

So I am.
