I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's(R). Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.

My great grandmother and grandfather, lovingly known as Grounie and Papa, has fought against Alzheimer's and dementia. 5 years ago I was getting ready to go on spring break vacation to the beach with a friend when I got the news Grounie had passed. I spent my week wishing I had gotten to say goodbye, even if she didn't remember who I was. More recently, I got the devastating news that now Papa is struggling with the same disease that the love of his life passed from. I want to end Alzheimer's so that my family never has to go through the horrible process of watching their loved ones forget them ever again. Please help me make that dream a reality.
