I grew up watching my Gramma take care of my Papa, who was living with dementia and Parkinson's disease. Some days he knew me, some not. It was confusing as a child watching that happen, but that stayed with me and molded who I am today. I am a nurse that created and runs a program for families living with different types and stages of dementia. I strive to be a support for those families during their journey, but I am looking forward to the day where we no longer have to deal with this terrible disease.
