Hello! I am walking for my Mom again this year! This will be our third time doing this event since my Mom moved to memory care unit in Feb. of 2021 after the death of my stepfather. This event is inspiring and I could not believe how many people showed up for this event and the outpouring of volunteer support for this event every year. My Mom has been living with dementia for a number of years now and continues to wreak havoc on her body and mind. Highs are when she takes our hand, looks up from her fog and says "I Love You", lows... well...lows are the lows. This is a horrific disease that robs an individual of their dignity and robs families of precious memories that could have been had.
I know we all have plenty of charities to give to and have asked you before - but if you want to help out again this year it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help and more importantly, your awareness of this disease that effects so many of our loved ones.
Walk October 7th in Washington DC!
