TJ Bland Walk Page
This fall I will be walking in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s to help raise money for the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. I have decided to form a team.
We are walking in honor of Timothy J. Fowler who passed away on April 20, 2013 at the age of 69.
Tim was born in Portland, Maine, attended local schools in Portland and graduated from Portland High School. Following high school Timothy joined the Navy. Over the next two decades Tim made a career in the Navy. He was awarded a Combat Action Ribbon for his service in the Vietnam War, Vietnam Campaign Medal with six Bronze Stars and was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal, Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Antarctic Service Medal with winter over Clasp, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and several other awards and Ribbons. Tim’s military career allowed him the opportunity to see many locations throughout the world.
Tim retired and lived in Maryland where he continued to work as a military bus driver. He will mostly be remembered as a kindhearted man who enjoyed talking with people. He loved telling “tall tales” to his family and never missed an opportunity to meet someone new.
Tim was loved by his entire family and we will cherish our memories of him forever. It is through our love for him that we give back in his honor in an effort to help others,
In order to fight for Tim and others with Alzheimer’s we need your support.
Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer’s Association advance research into prevention, treatment and a cure for Alzheimer’s. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for joining our movement! The end to Alzheimer’s starts here.
