Based on my experience, this disease takes on many forms. Dementia and Alzheimer's is more than forgetting conversations, people and events. Its the mind forgetting to tell the body how to function. How to eat, walk, sleep, talk, go to the bathroom - all the basic of life. Its a slow decline in mental and physical ability. It took the smartest, strongest person I know and ate him alive. It took my aunts ability to communicate. It scares me - will my sister or I have it? My cousins, children or grandchildren? As humans we have banded together to change many things - we can change this too. Thanks you for your support regardless of how big or small - just thinking about it makes a difference.
