I am participating in this walk in honor of my wonderful stepfather Calvin Cooksey. He cared for me as a loving parent for many years. Unfortunately, due to complications with Alzheimers, he is no longer with us. Walking for him means a lot to me, and his family. It is my pleasure to participate in this event for the fourth year in a row. I am pleased to be able to raise awareness in honor of such a wonderful man. He meant so much to all of us, and touched our lives in many ways. I am glad to be a part of the Alzheimer's Association walk for Charles County. I am walking for awareness. I am walking for a cure. Thank you to everyone who donated to this wonderful organization, and for making this event possible.
I' m leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
