I joined Keystone in the middle of the Covid pandemic.  I was looking to fulfill the need of feeling purposeful / wanted.  I didn't feel fulfilled.  I came across the position working with Alzheimer's/Dementia and knew this was what I yearned for.  You see, my grandmother long ago suffered from this horrible disease.  Back then as a child I didn't know much about it.  I just thought I had a crazy Gram, Having Alzheimer's Dementia and Paranoid Schizophrenia. I think during this time frame we really didn't know the different varieties of Dementia there are. Once I started to learn more about Dementia and took a position working with it, the thirst to learn more and help where I could increased. Now as a Team captain of our walk and being a part of an amazing event has become almost surreal.  The fight will never end.  However we can help, help to learn more, look for a cure, help families understand and help those who suffer every day.
