Hello all ,
Another year, another state, and another Walk to End Alzheimer's is on the horizon. From Massachusetts to NYC and now to Connecticut, it has been an honor to participate in Walks since 2011 for this important cause. This year, I will lace up my sneakers and Walk for the Cure on Saturday, September 23rd in New London, CT. My team is St. Edmund's Retreat at Enders Island, my wonderful place of employment since last October. I have been incredibly blessed by the support of so many friends and family members over the years, and was able to raise over $5,500 for the ALZ Association in both 2021 and 2022. So, with the bar set high, I am again ready to hit the streets on behalf of all of us!
As many of you know, The Walk became much more personal for me when my 59-year old sister Ann was formally diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease in 2021, and needed to move to a nursing home that same year. She is fortunate to have a caring staff there, and has been greatly supported by her parents, siblings, son and other family and friends. That being said, the only outcome that will stem the tide of this horrendous disease is a cure. So, as long as I am able, I will walk for Ann, and for all of us.
To my long-term sponsors, thanks in advance for continuing your generous support. And to any and all who may choose to sponsor me for the first time, trust me that I will be sure to represent all of us as well as my 63-year old legs will allow. Thanks again for joining me in the fight to eradicate this scourge!
Sincerely,
Andy
