Let’s Shoot Out Alzheimer’s sporting clay fundraiser event is back and ready to raise money for this horrible disease. This year’s event is held Saturday, August 19th 2023, at Colorado Clays Shooting Park in Brighton, Colorado. 

 In five short years of hosting this event, my donors have helped Let’s Shoot Out Alzheimer’s raise around $75,000.00 for the Alzheimer’s association of Colorado!! That’s  a lot of money in five years, and I would not have been able to do it without the support of you guys!! Thank you! My goal is to hit $100,000.00 in year SIX of hosting this event. I think we can do it that just $25,000.00 away. 

Alzheimer’s Disease is known as the long goodbye. Doctors describe it was the rapidly shrinking brain, as a patient’s brain slowly dies, they change physically and eventually forget who their loved ones are, and become less themselves. Patients can eventually become bed ridden, unable to move, and unable to eat, drink, or talk to their loved ones.

As many of you know, Alzheimer’s Disease, has had a huge impact on my life and turned me into the person I am today. For many years my Grandmother Marge Olsen suffered from memory loss, and finally was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease, in which the disease eventually took her from our family.  Although we had many great years with Grandma Marge, Alzheimer’s is not the disease, she wanted to be diagnosed with. she forgot the names of her family, calling us “her people” and forgot some of the greatest memories with her family. I would not be the person I am today without experiencing the long goodbye of my Grandma Marge Olsen.
