My Story

My family and I watched the progression of  Alzheimer's in my grandfather, Charles. Not only did we see the man we once knew as loving and playful become confused and quiet, we watched the affect it had on my grandmother to care for him day in and day out. 

My grandfather had an in home caregiver named Shondra, who was with him for several years. Not only did Shondra bring in the special care that he needed at home, but she became a large part of their lives. 

Shondra attended my grandfather's funeral after he passed and four months later when my grandmother became ill, she reached out to Shondra who was there for her as well. We are all so very thankful that Shondra could be there when family could not.

I will walk for my sweet grandfather and for Shondra. Both are such special people that were both affected by this awful disease.
