I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Larimer County Walk to End Alzheimer's this Saturday, October 8th. We're excited that the walk will begin and end at the New Belgium Porch at Canvas Stadium CSU.  As of now it looks like it should be a beautiful day.

You may have seen recently that a new drug is on the horizon that hopefully slows the mental decline in Alzheimer's.  This is exciting, but the fight is not over.  More research and trials are needed.  The Walk is the world's largest fundraiser for Alzheimer's care, support and research and your help is needed.

I walk to honor my mother, Darlene, who we lost to Alzheimer's in 2008.  I still remember watching as she lost the ability to do so many things that she loved.  I also remember the loss those of us who loved her experienced.  We felt helpless.
