My inspiration for Walking this year is my brother and his wife who were caretakers for her mom who was diagnosed a couple of years ago. They provided exceptional care for her and were honored that they were able to do this for her.
Please join me in my efforts to help find a cure for this dreaded disease. Your contributions will help fund worthy research projects which will eventually lead to a cure.
Currently there are no survivors. We need to change this, we need to provide hope for the millions that are living with Alzheimer’s and other related dementia disorders.
For those of you that know about my 15 year career with the American Cancer Society, we took great pride in the fact that over 600 survivors walked in the opening survivor lap of the Humboldt County Relay For Life.
Folks with cancer now survive because of the millions that have been invested in finding a cure. It wasn’t always this way. In the early 60’s, 90% of folks weren’t even told that they had a cancer diagnosis. In the 1950’s, 95% of children diagnosed with leukemia died; now, 95% survive. Let’s do the same for Alzheimer's. Let’s provide HOPE. Let’s find a cure so that we can have survivors at our 600+ Walk to End Alzheimer’s events that are held annually in communities nationwide.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's
