My story starts with my grandma, Marion Lee Hammar Scharf, my dad's mom. She lost her battle with Alzheimer's several years ago. She was the first born of nine children and spent most of her life caring for others. I am committed to fundraising to find a cure for this disease so no one else in my family and the world will have to struggle with this terrible disease.
I'm walking to help reclaim the future for millions. By participating in the Alzheimer's Association's Walk to End Alzheimer's, I am committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer's research, care and support.
I’m walking in memory of Ernie E, Nancy J and Ron T as well as those who have gone before us this year.
Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
