The 2023 Walk is October 7 at Sonoma State University. For the 11th year, I'll be walking in honor of my mom, Doris; mother-in-law, Fern; and over 6 million people in America currently living with Alzheimer’s dementia.
Last year, with your incredible support, we raised $65,261, ranking me the 12th highest fundraiser in the nation. My total for the past 10 years is $252,082!
Three new medications have come out in the last two years that are moving us into an unprecedented new era of treatment and hope. Your generous donations are what is bringing us closer to a cure.
I'm still doing educational presentations for the Alzheimer's Association. Contact me if you know of an organization, business, or club that would be interested in learning more about dementia, in person or by Zoom.
Three months ago I started volunteering again at the senior community where mom and Fern lived. I go on Friday afternoons when they have live music and I dance with the residents. It brings me such joy to see the smiles on their faces and to reminisce about dancing with my two “moms.”
