When I first started volunteering for the Alzheimer's Association 10 years ago, I didn't have a personal connection to the disease. This disease HAS become personal! The more I talked about my involvement, the more I learned that so many of my friends DID have personal connections to the disease that I didn't know about. In 2017 I learned that a childhood friend was diagnosed with 'Younger Onset' Alzheimer's Disease at 40 years old. Unfortunately she lost her battle with the disease last year at the age of 44. Her journey through the lengthy diagnosis process and beyond has only strengthened my resolve to work to raise funds for research and to educate the medical community that this disease can affect people of ALL ages.
Please help me raise money to honor Stacey and the countless others that are currently fighting this disease and all forms of dementia. It is only through research that we can find treatments and a cure! One day important moments will not be stolen from people's lives due to Alzheimer's. One day an Alzheimer's diagnosis will not be a death sentence!
The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with you. Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure.
Thank you for joining the movement!
