I am walking in memory of my sister-in-law Kathy Haar Jones.  I met Kathy when she and my brother Andy dated in high school when I was just five years old.   What a beauty!  Not only beautiful on the outside but even more beautiful on the inside.  She was smart, athletic, creative, and kind and had an incredible laugh that always brought joy to those around her.  And nothing was more important to Kathy than her family - she fiercely loved my brother and her two boys.

Kathy was first stricken with early-onset Alzheimer's 10 years prior to her passing.  Although she was never the same, as my brother says she bravely continued on and became something completely amazing - a fearless, uninhibited woman that traveled the world, pet a cobra, rode horses in the Himalayas, rode an elephant in India, designed and etched murals, made furniture, and created spectacular gardens.  Everything Kathy put her hand to brought beauty into our world and our lives.  

She is missed.  

I am walking to end Alzheimer's and by doing so I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this horrible disease.  I'm walking for my sister-in-law Kathy.  I'm walking for the many clients with Alzheimer's that our company has cared for over the years.  And I'm walking for those that continue to be affected.
