Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping and neither are we. By participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, I’m raising funds and awareness to advance the fight against this disease — funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
I first walked in this to support and raise awareness of this disease because it was close to home. My vibrant, intelligent, funny, loving Uncle Bud slowly lost his ability to remember the simplest of things; like what he had for lunch, or even if he had eaten lunch that day. We were blessed that he always knew us, even until the last days of his life; not everyone is that lucky. Uncle Bud lost his battle with Dementia/Alzheimer's on January 11, 2017, and he is missed every single day.
I am helping to raise funds and awareness so that other families don't have to watch someone they love and look up to slowly lose their independence and their precious memories.
Families facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia need us now more than ever — and with your help, we can be there for them. Please make a donation or register as a participant and start your own fundraising. Together, we can end Alzheimer’s disease.
