My mother, Dorothy Lockhart, was diagnosed with dementia at age 90. Only after her passing did we learn that she had Alzheimer's Disease and Lewy body dementia. One of my fondest memories of her took place while saying goodbye after a visit with her at her memory care facility. She was usually very quiet during our visits. But on this day, she looked at us and said, "Don't forget to bring cake!". She loved her cake! I am dedicating my Walk to my mother, family, friends, the St. Paul Hermitage staff, and the caretakers providing support for her and anyone with dementia.
