Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease.
My work at the Alzheimer’s Association is inspired by Addie, by her husband and dedicated caregiver Joe, and by all of the millions of people throughout the world who are affected by this tragic disease. Each day, I meet people who have been impacted by Alzheimer’s. I hear their stories, share their sorrow, and help them find hope when they feel despair. While Alzheimer’s is often a disease of isolation, hidden in the shadows, I take great pride in knowing that the work I do is bringing it to light, raising awareness so that one day, we will see our first survivor of this disease.
While it’s a great feeling to know that my relentlessefforts are indeed making a difference, I can’t do it alone! The Alzheimer’sAssociation has made great strides in advancing research, enhancing care andsupport for those affected, and promoting brain health. We are moving our mission forward each and every day. However, the road to a cure is a long one, and we need help to get there. Please support my work by making acontribution to my Walk team--no amount is too small (or too large!)— consider it an investment in your brain, helping to preserve your memories, now and into the future. Thank you for supporting me in this journey to #ENDALZ!
