As many of you know my mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease six years ago. This has been very difficult for me and my family and I wouldn't want anyone to have to live this journey with their loved one. I love my mom very much and really miss our long talks, walks in her Oakland neighborhood, going to the beach, and cooking together, especially around the holidays. I am so thankful that she is getting the best care at the Jewish Home in San Francisco. I feel very blessed to have them caring for my mom. Our visits are shorter now but we spend time in the garden (one of her favorite places!) and always seem to talk about food!
I am determined to make a difference in the fight against this terrible disease so other families don't have to go through what we are dealing with. For the ninth year, I am participating in my local Santa Cruz Walk to End Alzheimer's on September 187th. By participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®, I'm committed to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s research, care, and support.
I hope you will support me this year by making a donation to my team to help the Alzheimer's Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention, and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's. For the millions already affected by the disease, the Association offers care, education, support, and resources in communities nationwide.
Thank you for joining the movement! The end of Alzheimer's disease starts with all of us.
