Why is this organization so important to us? Just look at that picture of our mother (taken in early 2018) look at her beautiful smile and her beautiful face. We love our mother so much and to see her in her current condition is so heartbreaking.
Our beautiful mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2011. We were in denial at first thinking she's fine. She can talk and communicate, she can walk, she can drive, she reads her Bible, she goes to church, she runs her errands. There isn't anything wrong with her!
We read up and educated ourselves on Alzheimer's and understood what to expect. There are 7 stages of Alzheimer's and changes can occur in a span of several years, even up to 10 to 15 years. We are now 12 years in and our mother, our beautiful mother has since lost her verbal and communication skills, she has lost her ability to walk, she has lost the ability to feed herself, she has lost her ability to simply move, but there is one thing Alzheimer's did not take away from our beautiful mother and that is the love that she has in her heart, because we can see it in her eyes when she looks at her children and grandchildren. ♡
Our family and friends are joining in The Walk to End Alzheimer's so we can help bring awareness and most importantly, one day find a cure for this awful disease! We need this for our sake and for the sake of our children so that no other family has to endure the heartbreak of seeing a loved one go through this awful disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. It starts with you!! Please make a donation in honor of our mother to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's and thank you for your support
