At the end of 2021, my mother started to change. And in April 2022, her neurologist confirmed that she was suffering from Dementia with behavioral issues relating to Disease.
The biggest reason I wanted to do this walk, and become more involved with the Alzheimer's Association, was because I've seen the struggle of the person that's going through this awful disease, and dealt first hand with the stress and anxiety that gets put on the caregivers and loved ones that surround them. My mother fought long and hard with this and other comorbidities, and despite missing her every second since she's been gone, I'm relieved to know that she's at rest now.
My father and I fought long and hard too to keep her with us, but God had other plans and that's ok. So please help me in celebrating her life and her memory, by either joining my team in this walk, or by donating monetary funds however little or large. I want to raise these funds to bring much more awareness to advance the fight against this disease - funds that allow the Alzheimer's Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
I'd love to have you all! Thank you so much!
