This is my 9th year walking in memory of my dad Martin, who died on 12/9/2014, at my home, with his beloved Margaret at his side. This is a compilation of photos that is a snapshot of early years growing up in Delano.
My mom and dad had 60 years of marriage before his death and my dad adored his Margaret. Theirs was a wonderful example of respect and commitment.
Dad also welcomed his mother in law, my Nona into our home where mom cared for her until Nona's death. She was a huge part of our everyday lives and my parents made many sacrifices to honor this commitment as well.
There is nothing Martin loved more than being with his family and celebrating occasions, like his birthday!
These memories, I treasure. And stealing memories is something that Alzheimer's and related dementias do too well.
We are making so much progress in research and lifestyle changes, but we need a cure to make sure those memories stay there to be enjoyed for years to come. Please consider a donation. Truly, no amount is too small.
