I have gotten to work with people with Alzheimer's or dementia and their caregivers for over 25 years as a music therapist, a manager of an adult day center, at care facilites, in the community and as the Program & Education Manager of the Alzheimer's Association in San Luis Obispo, CA. It has been an honor to say the least. So many stories, so many insights, so many people.
In December, 2021, my dad died after dealing with dementia for several years He still had spunk at times, loved a good euchre card game and so enjoyed getting to visit with friends and family This year I walk and raise funds specifically in his memory
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. We must find a way to change the course of this disease.
Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease. Please - join my team and/or make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. I talk with people every day who need support - these funds will stay local and support our community.
Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer's!
