My Mom, Desiderata, passed away on July 6, 2018 of Alzheimer's disease. Diagnosed in May of 2014 she lived 4 years after diagnosis. Of course, she probably had been living with the disease long before she was diagnosed. My husband, Trip, and I walked for the first time in the fall of 2018, and we were overwhelmed by the love surrounding all involved with this disease. We are continuing to walk each year in hopes of bringing more awareness to early onset indicators of the disease so treatment can begin sooner and hopefully give the affected ones more quality of life. Because of your generosity, great strides are being made in the medical field in early detection and treatment, support and curing Alzheimer's Disease.
I'm leading the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can find a way to change the course of this disease. Together, we can end Alzheimer's disease.
Please make a donation to advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.
