I decided to start a Walk team more than 10 years ago in memory of my grandfather, John "Red" Berry of Smackover, Arkansas in order to raise funds and awareness for all those affected by Alzheimer's disease. I lived next to my grandfather, "P.A.", growing up so I saw him every day. It was very hard to watch him develop and ultimately lose the battle to Alzheimer's Disease. I also now Walk in memory of my Great Aunt, Katie Berry Austin and my husband's grandmother, Sarah "Grace" Dethlefs.
While most of my team have been personally affected by Alzheimer's, some Walk to support the vision of a World Without Alzheimer's and all Other Dementia.
